- 1. What is reciprocal linking and its value?
-
- Reciprocal linking is the process where two related websites agree to exchange text and/or graphical links with each other by placing links on their websites to the other site.
The goal of reciprocal linking is to share qualified traffic between two related websites.
For example, an antique mall might want to swap links with a furniture repair service. The two websites are separate, but related. Visitors on one site would naturally be interested in the other site.
Another example: An online auto parts store might want to swap links with a car detailing shop. Again, the two websites are separate, but related. Visitors on one site would naturally be interested in the other site.
Benefits of reciprocal linking are:
- Increase the value of your own website
- Give your website visitors a valuable resource
- Give your website visitors a reason to return to your website
- Gain qualified traffic from other related sites

- 2. Should I only swap links with websites that have a high ranking in the search engines?
-
- We suggest you swap links with any website that:
- Offers unique content
- Is well organized, easy to navigate, easy to read
- Is related to your own website
- Does not employ tactics to "trick" the search engines
Search engine rankings are temporary. Quality websites are much more permanant. Ask the question, "will my own website visitors benefit from this link?" If the answer is yes, then you may want to consider swapping links with that site.

- 3. Should I swap links with any website, or only specific websites?
-
- In order to gain qualified traffic that actually benefits you website, it is best to swap links with other websites related to your own site.
Swapping links with any random site that will reciprocate is not always suggested. The LinkPartners directory is intentionally broken down into over 200 separate genres (categories) so that you can find link swap partners with other websites closer related to your own site.
Furthermore, when you submit your website listing to LinkPartners.com, you can enter information about your website that will give prospective link partners a strong understanding of your website before they initiate a link swap. Information seen with each link includes a website title and description, demographics, traffic stats, target audience, and much more.

- 5. How do I set up a Reciprocal Link?
-
- There are many different ways to code a link. Have a look at the HTML Primer website where they have a great step by step explanation of how to code a hyperlink. If you have a LinksManager.com account (see below), you don't need to worry about coding links.

- 6. I have received multiple link swap requests from linksmanager.com/account-id urls. Is there any benefit to linking with more than one LinksManager powered site?
-
- Many users have written us asking if there is any benefit to linking with more than one links from linksmanager.com/account-id instead of domain.com/links. LinksManager urges it's customers to serve their links pages from their own server ie; yourdomain.com/links. This is accomplished with LinksManager's Auto FTP feature which sends the customer's links pages to their server anytime they change. LinksManager powered website who serves their LinksManager also offers a CName DNS solution for customers who do not have FTP access to their web hosting account.
Some LinksManager customers have webhosts who do not support FTP or the CName solution so they choose to serve their links from linksmanager.com/account-id. This is the choice of the user. You have the option of choosing not to link with sites who serve their links pages from linksmanager.com/account-id.
Some sites who have requested a link while serving from linksmanager.com/account-id will be serving their links pages from their domain in the future.
