2. Why do I receive emails with long URLs that are not clickable? -

It is possible your email application stripped the hyperlink from the email you received.

There are two ways to deal with this issue.

1.)Log in to your account at LinkPartners.com to respond to link requests. After logging in, click "Pending Swap Requests" in the top navigation bar.

2.) Copy the entire URL in your email and paste it in the address bar of your web browser.

3. How do I verify my site with an HTML file? -

The authentication system is designed to verify that you are the owner of the website you are registering. Without this process, it would be possible for someone else to setup a false account using your domain name, hijack your profile and publish misleading or illicit information.

You can authenticate your site by:
1. Creating an HTML document using the file name provided on the verification page of your profile.

2. Uploading the authentication document to your web server via FTP.

You will need FTP access to your web server. Consult your help documentation or contact your web host's technical support for more information on uploading files.

If you do not have access to the web server, contact your web host and ask them to create a blank HTML file with the appropriate file name.

After you or your hosting company places the authentication file on your site you will be able to complete the verification process.

Optionally, you can verify website ownership via email or meta tag.

4. How do I verify my site with META tags? -

The authentication system is designed to verify that you are the owner of the website you are registering. Without this process, it would be possible for someone else to setup a false account using your domain name, hijack your profile and publish misleading or illicit information.

You can authenticate your site by adding the meta tag provided on the verification page of your profile. It will look like:

‹meta name="verify-lp" value="FE73rj77CTJhJrWELg0Y" /›

You will need access to the HTML of your website. Some webmasters use a site builder and some use other programs to edit HTML. Consult your help documentation on how to modify your meta tags to insert this information.

If you do not have access to your website, then you will want to contact your web host and request that they add a special meta tag to your HTML head tag.

After you or your hosting company places the authentication file on your site you will be able to complete the verification process.

Optionally, you can verify website ownership via email or HTML file.

5. Why can't I verify my site via email with my personal address? -

The authentication system is designed to verify that you are the owner of the website you are registering. Without this process, it would be possible for someone else to setup a false account using your domain name, hijack your profile and publish misleading or illicit information.

99.99% of hosting companies include an email address when you purchase your domain and/or hosting package. The email address should be in the format: address@yourdomain.com .

This is the email address you will need to use for verification. While you may not use this address for personal email, you should still have access to the email.

Contact your hosting company and request that they provide you with the email address assocated with your web hosting account.

If your hosting company does not offer a unique email address, you can verify website ownership via meta tag additions or HTML file method.
