The dashboard uses one credit once every 31 days. Users may continue to visit the dashboard and obtain a birds-eye perspective of their projects even after reaching their credit limit. To do this, the dashboard has been configured only to use one credit every 31 days to load all current projects. No matter how many projects are created or imported at once, adding a new project to the dashboard will cost you an additional credit since we must reload it with further information. For a complex solution like Ahrefs, usage-based pricing was challenging to develop. But we're committed to improving the system and ensuring it's completely transparent and fair for all our users.

Three stages to performing a competitive link analysis

By examining the similar connections that your direct rivals currently have, this straightforward procedure might reveal several link chances.

1. List rival companies

You already know who your rivals are and can use that information later on. If you need some assistance, you may get a list of websites that are ranking for the same terms as you by looking at the Organic rivals report in Ahrefs' Site Explorer. If you still need a website, you may search for a few key phrases to learn more about your potential rivals. You can also accomplish this by adding a few keywords to Ahrefs' Keywords Explorer and visiting the Traffic Share by Domains report to see which websites receive the most traffic for those keywords.

2. Look for similar threads

Enter the names of your rivals from your list in Site Explorer's Link Intersect report. Having a list of all your enemies' referring websites and the number of distinct competitors who have links from those sites will be provided to you by this.

3. Identifying the tactics of rivals

There are a few applications for this information. You might start by going through the standard links your competitors have that you lack, or you can look for trends in the data to determine the kinds of websites from which your rivals are obtaining links. You could come across local listings, specialized websites, or other local websites. You've completed a simple competitor link analysis; congrats! For more information and opportunities, scale the link intersect procedure if you have extra time. Continue reading to learn how.

Process of intersecting scaled links

You work with more data while using a scaled process, which might result in more insights and possibilities. This procedure will take more time upfront, but you can exploit the chances you identify for other clients. Most people should be able to complete this procedure in two to four hours. To locate your niche-specific links, we'll first look at the links of your rivals. Later on, we'll search additional local websites for potential link chances.

Narrow links

The more straightforward method we discussed previously only examines immediate rivals. Even if you have more than ten direct competitors, you may still apply the process I will demonstrate to get additional information.  Skip the part below and proceed to the area where you export rival referring domains. You may use your list or obtain a giant list from Site Explorer's Competing Domains report.

Local only

Although it takes a bit more effort, this technique is ideal for local SEO-focused businesses.

Local SEO refers to businesses primarily serving a single geographic region, such as plumbing, legal, and dental practices. You'll uncover a lot of extra chances that nobody in your industry has taken advantage of if you look at websites operating in marketplaces that may be stronger or more competitive than your own. Duplicate this Google document with the top 50 American cities first. To construct your keyword list, change "service" to the name of your specialty and copy the value down. Finding the links that could be most beneficial to your rivals can be done by looking at their connections, which is a beautiful approach to reverse engineer their techniques. The system may be scaled to provide many original findings.
